No Need to Job Hunt On Your Own

Dave Cook, Career Counselor

NE MN Office of Job Training

Finding a job – not as simple as wanting a job. It is actually hard work and it takes a lot of effort. Here is the thing to remember, you do not need to do all the work on your own. Often it feels like you are creating the wheel for the first time, but you have people, places and programs at your fingertips.

Impact One Person Every Day is my personal brand. The goals of the Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training (NEMOJT) match my brand. Do what is needed to help a person find a job or take the next step in their life.

From the outsider’s point of view, that makes sense. People come in looking for a new gig, we connect them with them, they do what is necessary and poof they have a job. In actuality there is much more to it. From connecting people in need with the right services and teaching them how to write a resume, to interviewing basics and personal safety, helping people take the next step is complicated – but a lot of fun. To see the person you are working with take a successful step…there is nothing better; it is food for the soul.

So there it is; if you or someone you know is looking for work, there is no need to recreate the wheel and there is no need to go through this by yourself. There are people here at NEMOJT- a number of well-trained people – who want nothing more than to be a part of your solution.

Even if it is just a small part.
